Every question deserves a straight answer

These are the questions Kerala families actually ask on our toll-free line, answered the way we answer them on the phone: plainly, specifically and without making anyone feel foolish for asking.

Choosing and sizing

Almost every difficult first week traces back to one of two decisions: the format (tape style or pull-up) and the size (waist in centimetres, never body weight). Get these two right and the rest of incontinence care becomes routine. The size guide covers measurement step by step, including for bedridden users.

How do I know which adult diaper size to buy?

Measure the waist at navel level in centimetres, not body weight. Medium fits 71 to 112 cm, Large fits 112 to 155 cm, and XL/XXL fits 155 to 195 cm. If the measurement falls between sizes, choose the larger size for bedridden users and the snugger size for active users.

Should I buy tape-style diapers or pull-ups?

Choose tape style if the user is bedridden or changed by a caregiver, because tape diapers open flat and refasten on the sides. Choose pull-ups if the user walks and manages changes independently, because they wear and remove like regular underwear.

How many diapers does a bedridden patient need per day?

Typically 3 to 5 changes in 24 hours depending on fluid intake and absorbency: on waking, after meals and before sleep, plus an immediate change after every bowel movement. A monthly supply works out to roughly 100 to 150 pieces.

What is the difference between an underpad and a diaper?

A diaper is worn by the person; an underpad protects the bed or chair surface beneath them. Most home care setups use both together, especially overnight and during changes, when most accidents happen. The diaper protects the person, the underpad protects everything else.

Usage and care

Good technique matters as much as a good product. Changing on a rhythm, drying the skin properly and positioning leg guards correctly prevent the rashes, leaks and infections that families often blame on the diaper itself. These answers are the same ones our team gives on the phone every day.

How do I prevent diaper rash in elderly users?

Change promptly after soiling, clean and fully dry the skin, allow 10 to 15 minutes of open air time during changes, apply a barrier cream, and check the size. A diaper that is too tight traps heat and moisture, which is the main cause of rashes.

Can adult diapers be worn overnight?

Yes. Use the correct size with the leg guards properly positioned, put on a fresh diaper immediately before sleep, and place an underpad on the bed as a second layer of protection. With this setup most users sleep through the night without interruption.

How do I change a diaper for a bedridden patient?

Roll the user gently to one side, open the used diaper and fold it inward, clean and dry the skin, position the new diaper flat under the hips, roll the user back, pull the front through and fasten the tapes snugly at hip level.

How should used adult diapers be disposed of in India?

Wrap the used diaper in newspaper or a disposal bag, tie it securely and place it in dry or sanitary waste according to your local collection rules. Never flush any part of a diaper, including the inner material.

Do adult diapers cause urine infections?

Diapers do not cause infection by themselves; infrequent changing does. Prompt changes, proper cleaning and correct sizing keep skin healthy. Consult a doctor if there is fever, foul odour or unusual discomfort, since those signs need medical attention rather than a product change.

Category education

Incontinence products are a small system rather than a single item. These answers explain how the pieces fit together: what each format is for, what overnight protection really requires, and what a complete setup for a newly bedridden patient looks like.

What absorbency do I need for overnight use?

For overnight use choose a high-absorbency tape-style diaper in the correct size, position the leg guards upright, and add an underpad on the bed. Change immediately before sleep. If nights are still interrupted by leaks, recheck the size first; overnight leaks usually mean wrong fit, not insufficient absorbency.

Can pull-ups be worn during travel or flights?

Yes. Pull-ups are made for exactly this. They wear invisibly under normal clothing and the tear-away sides allow a change in any restroom in under a minute. For long journeys, carry one pull-up for every four to five hours of travel plus a small pack of wipes.

Are these diapers unisex?

Yes. LifeCare adult diapers and pull-ups are unisex, designed around waist measurement rather than gender. The absorbent core covers the full front-to-back area, so the same product works for men and women. Choose by waist size and format, nothing else.

What waist size is XL/XXL meant for?

LifeCare XL/XXL tape-style diapers fit waist measurements from 155 to 195 cm, measured at navel level. If the measurement is near the lower end of that range, Large (112 to 155 cm) may also fit; choose the snugger size for active users.

Which products do I need for a newly bedridden patient at home?

The core setup: tape-style diapers in the correct size, underpads for the bed, body wipes and a barrier cream. Add an alternating-pressure air mattress if bed time will exceed a few weeks, and a commode wheelchair if the user can sit.

When you call or message

Three details that get you a precise answer in one reply

First, the waist measurement in centimetres, taken at navel level. Second, the mobility situation in one phrase: bedridden, walks with help, or fully independent. Third, what is going wrong, if anything: leaks at night, redness at the hips, sagging when walking. With those three details, our team can usually tell you the exact product, size and quantity in a single message, instead of a back-and-forth.

And if you do not have the details yet, message us anyway. We will tell you what to measure and how. Nobody is expected to arrive prepared for a situation no one prepared them for.

Your question is not here?

Ask it anyway. Describe your situation in one sentence on WhatsApp or call 1800-1212-665 toll-free, and a person who knows care products will answer in Malayalam, English or Hindi.
